Pearl is the stone of innocence, purity and female energy.

Thanks to its charm, sophistication and the association with luxury, pearl jewelry would make a perfect gift, also for #ValentinesDay, that would be treasured forever. The unique character of pearls is further influenced by the fact that they are the only gemstone that is created by a living organism. Pearl is considered to be the birthstone of June and the sign of Gemini so would make a lovely present for anyone who enjoys wearing or collecting jewelry and was born in this month.

In fact, pearl jewelry have been appreciated and cherished for their beauty since ancient times. With time, pearls became so revered that wealthy people chose to wear pearl jewelry to highlight their status.

At one point in the 1st century BC, only the ruling classes were permitted to wear pearl jewelry. This particular law was introduced by Julius Caesar himself.

As with every other jewelry trend, #pearljewelry comes back in fashion periodically, usually with a modern take on the classic designs.

Nowadays, pearls are again gaining popularity with jewelry enthusiasts all over the world.

Due to being unique and often one of a kind, vintage pearl jewelry is very much a perfect accessory for everyone who enjoys unique and sophisticated pieces.

The most popular and loved types of pearls include Akoya, South Sea and Tahitian pearls.

In the majority of cases, natural pearl jewelry that is sold these days are usually cultured and come in a wide range of colours from classic white pearls to more extravagant peacock or dark green.

Strings of champagne or peach pearls look especially stunning when worn in layered style due to their unique, multidimensional shades.

Valentine's Day is the perfect occasion to both gift and receive pearl jewelry. With some many options and designs available, it will satisfy even the most demanding of vintage jewelry enthusiasts. To make it more accessible, costume jewelry companies introduced fake pearl jewelry pieces into their collection, which often look quite stunning. However, spotting a fake is actually quite easy, but it is a topic for another day.
